Traveling with oral GLP-1s is generally simpler than traveling with injectables (no cold chain, no needles). But specific considerations still apply. Here's the practical guide.

TSA Domestic Travel

Oral medications in prescription bottles pass through TSA without special handling requirements. Sublingual troches and ODTs travel like standard tablets. Oral drops in liquid form fall under TSA's medical liquid exception — larger than 3.4 oz is allowed with declaration at security. Compounded formulations should ideally travel in labeled containers from the pharmacy.

Practical tip: keep medications in original prescription containers with pharmacy labels rather than transferring to travel pill organizers. This addresses any TSA or law enforcement questions about the medications.

International Travel

Different countries have varying rules for personal medication imports.
